Honorable Mention Feathers at the Poetry Workshop Steve Williams A self coronated magpie, he sings his scrawled song, decrees his preferences over the peasants, thrums grouse-like, struts past dissension, plays a wounded mother goose looking for a ride home. The writer with a story for his new name, pulls a quill from a sparse back, puts a ballad to parchment of the moon; he remembers dreams of dotted eggs cradled by twigs, leaves and moss, nights in another’s living down.
